History

Shawood Lumber Inc. was established in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1979 by the president and CEO, Andy Shaw. Shawood is dedicated to producing premium high-quality Western Red Cedar (WRC), value-added wood products for the North American and key world markets.

Under his vision and leadership, the Company has grown (from its founding team of eight) to a highly-skilled production and sales force of over 95 employees, with customers in over 30 countries around the world.

The original Vancouver operations were strategically relocated in 1996 to a more accessible 10 acre site, 20 miles east of Vancouver in the Fraser Valley community of Langley, BC. Today, this high-tech integrated and efficient manufacturing plant and 4 kilns encompasses four buildings totalling 150,000 sq. ft. with an annual production capacity of over 50 million board ft. (mbf).
